Full-length 16S/ITS sequencing

Full-length (~1,500 bp, V1–V9) 16S sequencing for species-level resolution of bacterial communities. Default input is pre-amplified 16S libraries — add amplification for $20 per sample if you'd like us to handle PCR from extracted community DNA.

Service Type Read Count Target Cost per Sample Amplicon Length DNA Concentration Minimum Volume Purity (A260/280) Purity (A260/230) Target Turnaround Time

Frequently Asked Questions

What sample types do you accept?

By default, we accept pre-amplified full-length 16S amplicons. If you’d like us to handle PCR, add the amplification service ($20 per sample) and submit purified community DNA from soil, water, swabs, biofilms, fermentation cultures, or most environmental samples.

Why full-length 16S instead of V3–V4?

Short-read platforms can only sequence a fragment of the 16S gene (typically V3–V4, ~450 bp), which often can’t distinguish closely related species. We sequence the full ~1,500 bp 16S gene, giving species- and often strain-level resolution from a single amplicon.

What files will I receive?

By default, you will receive sequencing reads (.fastq), taxonomic prediction (.txt, .csv, .png) and quality control information (.png, .html). If custom analysis is required, please note this in the additional information section.

When will I receive my data?

Microbiome projects are typically completed in 2 business days from receipt of samples. If you need data ASAP, let us know.
